Hon James Mubiru - Kampala - Uganda - Mubiru James is a Founder and Chief Executive Director of Country Lights Uganda that aims at inspiring, rescuing and empowering vulnerable children and youth through life skills, Education opportunities and talent development in Uganda. He is Human Rights Activist with ten years experience in advocating for child rights and youth and family empowerment.

At Country Lights Uganda, our mission is to ignite hope and create opportunities for vulnerable children and youth in Uganda. Led by Mubiru James, a seasoned Human Rights Activist with a decade of experience advocating for child rights and family empowerment, we are committed to making a meaningful impact on the lives of the underserved.

Country Lights Uganda envisions a future where every child and young person in Uganda has access to life skills, educational opportunities, and talent development, allowing them to reach their full potential and contribute positively to society.

Mubiru James: A Man of Dedication and Expertise

Mubiru James is the driving force behind our organization. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our cause:

Educational Excellence

James holds a Degree in Computer Science from Kampala University, equipping him with a diverse skill set, including computer repair and maintenance, database management, Java programming, management information systems, computer operation, software engineering, and communication skills.

Industry Expertise

While working as a System Administrator with Afro Soft IT Solution, he actively contributed to software development and system administration, gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies.

Spiritual Leadership

James completed a certificate in theology at All Nations Theological College in Entebbe and served as a Youth Leader at Makerere Full Gospel Youth Ministry from 2015 to 2018, nurturing young minds in their spiritual journeys.

Legal Advocacy

His commitment to justice led him to acquire a Diploma in LAW from the Law Development Centre. James volunteers with Wameli and Company Advocates & Solicitors, where he continues to advocate for children’s rights and youth empowerment. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in LAW.

Community Representation

James currently serves as a Lord Councilor (LC5) of Rubaga North, where he represents over 60,000 citizens at City Hall meetings in the Kampala City Council Authority, ensuring that the voices of the marginalized are heard.
